Application Guidelines


Ethical Guidelines

1. Theme: All artworks must reflect themes of solidarity, justice, and resilience in support of Palestine. They should convey messages of empathy, understanding, and hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.


2. Sensitivity: Artists should approach the subject matter with sensitivity and respect for the experiences and struggles of the Palestinian people. 


3. Authenticity: Artworks should strive to authentically represent the lived experiences, culture, and heritage of Palestinians. Respectful portrayal of their traditions, customs, and identity is crucial.


4. Diversity and Inclusion: Encourage diversity in artistic expression, welcoming various mediums, styles, and perspectives. Embrace inclusivity by highlighting the voices and stories of marginalized groups within the Palestinian community.


5. Non-Discrimination: Artworks should not promote discrimination, hatred, or stereotypes against any ethnic, religious, or cultural group. 


6. Peaceful Resistance: Advocate for peaceful resistance and non-violent methods of protest and activism. Art can be a powerful tool for expressing dissent and calling for change without resorting to aggression or harm.


7. Cultural Exchange: Encourage dialogue and cultural exchange between Palestinian artists and artists from around the world. Collaboration and solidarity across borders can foster mutual understanding and support.


8. Historical Context: Acknowledge the historical context of the Palestinian struggle for self-determination and the ongoing challenges they face. Artworks can explore themes of displacement, occupation, and the quest for freedom and justice.


9. Global Context: Situate the Palestinian cause within the broader context of global social justice movements. 


10. Positive Impact: Aim for artworks that inspire empathy, raise awareness, and mobilize support for concrete actions to address the root causes of the conflict.

By adhering to these guidelines, artists can contribute meaningfully to the campaign through their creative expression, fostering understanding, empathy, and support for the Palestinian cause.


Technical Guidelines

1. File Format: Artworks should be submitted in digital format. Accepted file formats include JPEG, PNG, or PDF. Ensure that the file format maintains the quality and integrity of the artwork. This is applies to written texts such as poems, but also visual art or photographs.


2. Resolution: Submit high-resolution images with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). This ensures clarity and quality when the artwork is printed or displayed digitally.


3. File Size: Keep file sizes manageable for ease of transmission via email (Wetransfer). Large files may be compressed using file compression software to reduce size without compromising quality.  

4. File Format: Submit video artworks in commonly accepted formats such as MP4, MOV, or AVI. Ensure compatibility with standard video players and editing software.           Duration: Limit the duration of video artworks to a reasonable length suitable for online viewing and engagement. Shorter videos (under 10 minutes) are generally preferred to maintain viewer interest and accessibility.                                                  

5. Naming Convention: Use a clear and standardized naming convention for files to facilitate organization and identification. Include the artist's name and a brief title or description of the artwork in the file name.


6. Artwork Information: Include relevant information about the artwork in the email body or as a separate document. This may include the title of the artwork, artist's name, medium used, dimensions (if applicable), and a brief artist statement or description.


7. Contact Details: Provide complete contact information, including the artist's name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. This ensures effective communication and facilitates any necessary follow-up.


8. Permissions: Ensure that we have the necessary permissions and rights to use the artwork for the campaign. This includes posting the work on our website and social media platforms, but always with the artist's name mentioned (if this is wished). If the artwork includes any third-party content or elements, obtain appropriate permissions or provide necessary credits.


9. Compliance: Ensure that the artwork adheres to the technical and content guidelines outlined for the campaign. Submissions that do not meet the specified criteria may be disqualified from consideration.

By following these technical guidelines, artists can effectively submit their artwork for the campaign via email (Wetransfer), facilitating the review and selection process for the campaign.
